Plotting

This morning,  I woke up ready for a full day of work. I started by getting myself cleaned up and making some breakfast for myself. After making sure I had everything I needed I made my way to work. Once getting there, I opened up the place and attended to every customer that came through. Suddenly, it was lunchtime and I see my mother who kindly enough brought lunch for me with a refreshing coke on the side. I decided to take my lunch and decided to go to my car.  Once inside my car, I wal welcomed with silence and ready to devour my lunch. First, I needed a sip from my soda once I opened it the drink started to fizz up. Half of the drink started to spill all over my uniform and I only had thirty minutes to eat my lunch. I decided that it was not worth the time to go and change clothes and tried to dry them as much as I could with my car's AC. Thirty minutes ended up flying by and it was time for me to go back to work with my soaked clothes. Fortunately, my clothes quickly dried up, and went on about my day. Finally, it was time for me to go home. I decided that I needed to treat myself for my hard day at work. I made my way to Starbucks to get my favorite drink for the day. I got to the drive thru and waited for the person to welcome me. I waited and waited until I saw that they had changed their store hours.

My abode

My home is cozy and tight-knit which is something that I love. Every time I come in through the front door the first thing that hits me is the sweet aroma of my mother's cooking. Then the screams of my little siblings excited that I am finally home. The living room is pretty big and has enough space for a family of five. The windows in the living room bring in sunlight and make the room glow. Both of the bedrooms are small but cozy. The bathroom is in between the bedrooms and has the same distance between both rooms. During the late afternoons, sunlight will come into the bathroom and make the room very bright. The kitchen is quite vast and has glass doors on one side and a small window on the right. The room that I inhabit the most will be my room. My room is quite tight and clustered. Due to my sisters and my belongings being in the same place. One place that I enjoy being in is the library. The library is quiet and is a noise-free environment. The library has open spaces and secluded places where you can go study or read with no distractions. It has huge windows that bring warm light in and is surrounded by nature. However, my room I quite noisy due to my parent's chatter and the constant yells of my siblings but the noise brings life to my space. It makes me feel at home and at peace rather than the silence at the library.

Abstract Image

Pierre Alechinsky | Gong | The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This is a painting named Gong created by Pierre Alechinsky. The use of various hues of blue gives the painting a calming and tranquil feeling. The lines in the painting are smooth but were also drawn hard enough to create a figure of what looks like a woman dancing. On the other side, another figure appears to me to be a snail or a flower. In the rest of the painting, the painting is covered in a dark shade of blue and consists of huge dark swirls. In the painting, it seems like the two figures are the only ones glowing. The woman in the painting seems to be confined to a small space since her head seems to be in an uncomfortable position. The small parts of the painting where color is missing make it seem as if a light is coming into the painting or the woman is going to be consumed by the darkness.  When looking at the painting I feel calm but also sad because the woman doesn't know what she is walking into which seems like a dark abyss. The colors of the painting caught my eye since the color blue tends to bring a feeling of sadness but also bring a feeling of peace. Pierre Alechnisky created this painting based on a sound that is created by an instrument in East Asia. The gong creates vibration that are quite relaxing just like the colors in this paining.

Starry Night

Amazon.com: wall26 - Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh - Dutch Impressionism - 20th Century Artist - Peel and Stick Large Wall Mural, Removable Wallpaper, Home Decor - 66x96 inches : Tools & Home Improvement

For my representative work, I chose the ''Starry Night'' painting by Vincent Van Gogh. The details that are important to me in this painting are the dark colors. It shows what Vincent Van Gogh was going through while making this painting.  During this time, Vincent Van Gogh was staying at a hospital and was going through depression. He was getting better at first but then his mental health went downhill. One thing that I like about this painting is that the sky is tranquil and dreamlike. While the town seems dark and distant from the sky. For me, mental health is very important because it can significantly affect a person's life. Mental health can bring serious consequences when not taken seriously or ignored. When ignored, people will feel alone and judged by the people around them. However, we all process our emotions in different ways. Some of us tend to shut ourselves out of the outside world or bottle up our emotions inside. Others are aware that they need help but are scared of being vulnerable to others. People should feel comfortable talking about their mental health to people they trust and know will have their back. Just taking baby steps in taking care of ourselves can make a big difference. Over time, people can build up the courage to seek help. In life, we never know what the person next to us is going through which is why we should be kind to one another. I have been in situations where I see someone and think to myself that their life must be great but come to find out that they are going through a great challenge in life. This painting is a reminder to myself that we all are going through different stages in our lives and we have to take care of our well-being.

Benevolence Manifesto
